The crowning of the Miss Parada San Juan Bautista is an elegant annual event which provides its contestants with an exciting experience as well as an opportunity to develop pride for their culture, language, traditions and heritage. The Pageant attracts young women between the ages of 15 to 18 years to compete for the prizes, title, crown and honor of representing the Puerto Rican community. Throughout the year, the Queen and her royal court represent the Parada San Juan Bautista, Inc. at many regional events.
The goal of the Miss Parada San Juan Bautista is to provide a fair environment in which young women have the opportunity to better themselves. The pageant encourages the contestants to gain self-awareness, self-confidence, individual pride and greater social awareness. Each contestant improves her ability to communicate effectively, speak in front of people and stand up for her beliefs.
Many pageant contestants each year have never been in a pageant before. They find it to be rewarding and worthwhile experience. Many have actually won on their first attempt and many others return because it was a positive experience.
